The ticket holder will be right on the rail in the highly sought after section of 116, where you will see the horses just as they cross the finish line! Sitting along the rail is one of the most exciting places to sit at Churchill Downs. You will feel the thunder of Derby Day racing!
Seats in section 116 are known as ‘Box Seating’, as each box is set up to accommodate six ticket holders. This section is located on the first floor and the seats are folding style with backs. The ticket holder gains access to all the amenities of the 1st floor clubhouse, such as a short trip to the paddock area to view the horses prior to each race, and access to plenty of betting windows, concessions, and restrooms. The horses enter the track between this section and 117. Section 116 offers the ticket holder a nice view of the winners circle and is located just before the finish line. Box seats offer a fantastic social atmosphere, and can be a great spot to take pictures from. The variation in pricing between the sections is in relation of their proximity to the finish line.
